compromise is a disease
Compromise is a sneaky sonofagun.
It starts out innocent... Something happens and you have to compromise.
Maybe it's your workout time, the food you're going to eat, or maybe you even have to skip the gym for today.
And the first time isn't such a big deal because things happen that you can't control - so flexibility has to be a part of your lifestyle if you want to succeed.
The ones that are too rigid, they don't succeed. They quit because things are never perfect.
Perfection is the enemy of progress - or so it's been said.
But if you're not careful, compromise becomes a habit very quickly. Compromise quickly becomes your lifestyle.
And to be honest? I didn't recognize just how important this message was until a few days ago when I started looking to hire for a shipping and receiving job here at Nutrithority.
That's when I started to recognize that a lot of people don't understand commitment vs compromise. They don't understand that to get the results that you want, you have to commit at a deep level.
That lack of commitment makes it very hard to find the right people to join my team.
Maybe it was bodybuilding, maybe it was growing up in an entrepreneurial family (we don't call in - we crawl in)... but whatever it was, commitment was something I understood early in life.
If you want to succeed at anything you do - playing the guitar, speaking Spanish, getting in shape, building your career, etc..
You gotta commit to the process.
That means you fall off and you get right back on.
That means something bad happens and you find a way to stick to your commitment, even if there's a level of compromise.
In the end, it's about the commitment and how important that is to you.
Because if you can't keep your word to yourself, who are you going to keep your word to?
Just like compromise is a habit, so is consistency. The more you train the 'consistency muscle', the stronger it gets. The more easily you stick to your word. The more easily you do the things you don't want to do.
And one of the easiest ways to get started on the consistency path, is to take your supplements every single day.
It seems simple, it seems too easy - and it is. That's the best part. Starting small, starting easy is the best way to go.
