Accountability
I used to have the best alarm clock.
She didn't make a lot of noise, but she never failed to wake me up.
A quick "huff, huff, huff" followed by the warm breath of my Saint Bernard did the trick.
She passed away a couple of years to bone cancer, but she was great. Loving and gentle... but also full of drool.
She made sure I was awake every day at the same time to let her out. If I wasn't up, she would lay her face in front of mine and pant loudly.
Even when I wanted to sleep in, she wouldn't let me.
She was one of the best accountability partners I've ever had for making sure I was out of bed on time.
If I tried to ignore her, she just got louder and more vocal.
If you're having trouble getting to the gym, you might need an accountability partner yourself.
Someone that's more motivated than you are right now, that'll help you stay on track even when you don't want to.
Someone that will call you out when you miss a workout, when you're late, or when you're not pushing yourself very hard.
They're hard to find, but a good workout partner is one of the strongest ways to stay consistent - and to stay motivated when you're not feeling it at the moment.
Sometimes all you need is someone else to amp you up and get you going for your workout.
That's something I try to do with these emails - to keep you motivated, help you find the solutions to your problems, and keep you on track. Because I know it's consistency that matters, not perfection.
Now I'm also adding a weekly podcast to that information.
On our podcast episode #3, we talked about creatine and water retention.
We talked about "muscle turning into fat" and other myths.
We also talked about how to stay lean with the least amount of effort.
