The comfortable killer
Aging is the process of seeking comfort.
Or at least that's the way I heard someone put it recently. But it makes sense to me. The older we get, the more we look for comfort.
Just look at how willing you are to put on a coat nowadays to compared to when you were a kid. That in itself should show you how uncomfortable you are with discomfort.
But if aging is the process of seeking comfort... does seeking discomfort help us to stay young?
It sure seems that way, and it seems like the more you seek discomfort - the better you get at handling it.
Just like when you first start working out.. it's tough. It hurts, it feels awkward, and it's not an enjoyable experience.
But over time, as you gain more familiarity with the exercises, that pain transforms. It still hurts, but it's a discomfort that you can embrace.
The ones that can REALLY embrace it, truly know how to push themselves through their pain threshold for the best results.
But what if I told you that embracing discomfort is just the tip of the iceberg?
