Should you ever skip the gym?
You know that feeling when you hit the snooze button and go back to sleep, only to wake up later to realize you slept through your workout?
Yeah, I've done that a few times.
It turns out snoozing is a pretty bad way to go when it comes to your sleep cycle (but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop).
But what about those times that you're extra tired, sore, or even sick? Is a bad workout better than no workout?
It is, most of the time. But there are a few exceptions - a few times you should stay away.
Like if you're absolutely running on fumes and are going to exchange quality sleep for an extra gym session, or when you've got a chest cold or a fever.
My rule of thumb is to make it to the gym and give it 30 minutes. If I don't get into it by then, I give myself permission to leave.
It's helped me to consistently go to the gym, but also to listen to my body and when I might need an extra break.
I go over all of this in way more detail in our latest podcast - Episode #9!
